Jobs in Wellington

Whether you are coming to New Zealand on a Working Holiday and want to find work, or you’re looking for a casual backpacker’s job to fill your bank account again, Wellington is a city with many job opportunities. It is the Arts and Culture Capital of New Zealand. We can offer you weekly rates and long term accommodation rates to make your stay cheaper and advice you on where to look for work. In our hostel we have information boards where people can ad their notices; especially in summer the boards are loaded so this might help you as well.

We have people stay at our hostel accommodation that work for a longer or shorter period in Wellington, at any given time of the year. Most of them are more than willing to help you out when first arriving in New Zealand and looking for a job. They themselves have been in the same situation, looking for casual backpacker work or hoping to find a longer term job, and certainly know their way around a bit. We’ve also seen that vacating travellers and backpackers pass on their job to new backpackers on arrival, so it might be well worth staying at the hostel to get the inside information.

The kind of jobs you may expect to find here in New Zealand, depending on the region you want to work, are: hospitality (cafes, bars, and hotels), tourism, call centers and customer service, construction, healthcare, office jobs, farm work and fruit picking.

NZ's best backpackers!!! This place is awesome. From its Art Deco orginal features, its super fast lifts, it is close to everything and it's got everything you need...without the big budget. I loved staying here.
